Nagpur: The Wadi police have arrested six persons following a complaint by a 23-year-old youth that he was abducted, thrashed, robbed and also shot at on Friday evening. However, father of one of the accused claimed that the complainant, Kunal Satpute, was making false allegations and police made the arrests without investigation.According to DCP Zone I, Shailesh Balkawde, Satpute has suffered injuries. "The case was registered and the arrests were made on the basis of the complaint. Further points will be clear in the investigation," Balkawde said.Satpute, a resident of Dattawadi, is undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital. All the arrested accused - Bhimsena Nagpur gramin president Sameer Mendhe, Rajesh Jangle, Nilesh Jangle, Chhotu Jha, Satish Sahare and Suraj Wankhede - have been remanded to police custody till January 12.According to Satpute, he was standing near Jindal Park in Dattawadi when some people came out of a white colour car, thrashed him and dragged him inside the vehicle. The alleged abductors took Satpute to an dense area and again thrashed him. Satpute told police that the accused also robbed cash Rs10,000 and gold chain worth Rs50,000 and even demanded Rs5 lakh from him.As per Satpute's complaint, when he resisted, Mendhe fired a round with his desi katta at his right leg.

Narendra told media that on Friday evening, his son was at the meeting with Bhimsena activists and later went for dinner with the group to a hotel. He claimed that CCTV cameras at the hotel had captured Mendhe entering and leaving the place. Narendra also claimed that Nilesh Jangle had been to his aunt's house while Jha was at Wadi police station on Friday evening when Satpute claimed that he was abducted.Narendra said the white colour car which Satpute mentioned in his complaint is owned by his son. He added that the car is at the service centre for the last two weeks. Narendra demanded immediate probe in the case.
